One Jacket, Two Ways | Iona Mac styles the Maxine Jacket

The Maxine Jacket is a hero piece from our AW19 collection, and one of our first ever faux fur designs. Born out of our love of vintage fur coats and the struggle to find the perfect leopard print jacket, the Maxine was months in the making. After numerous rounds of sampling and sourcing different fabrics, it took us over six months to design the perfect leopard print! We had this print custom made and dyed, and is exclusive to Friends With Frank.

As the Maxine was inspired from vintage fur shapes, we asked Iona Mac - who runs her own preloved online vintage store - to show us how she would style this timeless piece. We love Iona's unique style and the way she mixes vintage with more current luxury pieces. Iona draws on her classic aesthetic to show us how to style one jacket, two ways.

 KEEP IT CLASSIC

For a casual look that won't date, pair the Maxine with a fresh white t-shirt, blue denim and black boots. Styling the Maxine Jacket with pared back, wardrobe classics lets the leopard print do all the talking. This keeps the look uncomplicated, with an effortless French-girl vibe. Follow Iona's lead and add a small black bag, to take your look from day to night.

 BACK TO BLACK

For a look that's versatile enough for a night out, dinner, or any kind of nighttime event, you can't go wrong with an all-black outfit. Black pairs perfectly with leopard, working back with the black rosettes within the print. A leather pant, black heel and black bag elevates your look, whilst keeping it understated and always chic.
