5 Minutes with Tash Sefton

We recently caught up with Tash Sefton, Sydney-based tastemaker, style curator and fashion creative. We love Tash for her always chic, effortless style and her approach to building a wardrobe around classic, investment pieces.

Tash is a woman of many talents; most recently launching a styling consulting business called Where Did Your Style Go, where her accessible styling advice and take on mixing high-end and affordable fashion resonates with her loyal following. She is also one half of Sefton & Segedin, an original art business she collaborates on with her sister Hayley.

We chatted about her approach to winter dressing, the staples she thinks every woman should have in her wardrobe, and her picks from our AW19 collection.

Do you have any podcasts you’re loving at the moment?
I haven't got into listening to podcasts like the rest of the world!!! But I just did one with a UK journalist, which has had a massive reaction in case anyone wants to listen to mine! Hahah - I have been really overwhelmed with the response! http://secondsister.com/freedom-hunters-tash-sefton/#more-5768

Where would your ultimate Winter escape be?
I love to ski and just got back from Whistler in Canada - it was incredible as like being in a magical fairy land with all the snow, beautiful scenery and incredible castle like hotel. Also Canada is such an amazing place - Vancouver is one of my favourite cities to visit.

What is your must-have winter staple that every woman should have in their wardrobe?
I think a camel coat - it goes with work wear or can be worn casually. Neutrals look amazing colour blocked, or added with a bright or over black. And seems to suit everyone. I always get comments when I wear mine… as it looks effortless.

What are your picks from our AW19 collection?
I love the Matilda coat in camel - (wish it also came in black! ha) and then for fun the Harriet Coat. It's not only warm, but every time I wear it I get stopped by people asking me about it. Also it's very very warm - like wearing a blanket.

How would you style a classic winter coat from day to night?
I am one of those people that feels the cold. So I always leave to house with a coat on during winter. I don't treat a coat like a ‘coat’ - I wear it as part of my outfit. Which is why I like a coat not to be too heavy but wearable everyday in life.

What is the next item on your winter wardrobe wishlist?
Mmmmm I actually am not sure! I do love cashmere sweaters and always buy a couple each season. They are great essentials and last for years.
