Fabric Focus | Organic Cotton

Where sustainable practice meets considered design, our recently-launched Classic Tee and Classic Tank are proudly made from GOTS-certified organic cotton. As part of our Fabric Focus Series, we take a closer look at this natural fibre — why it’s such a beautiful fabric to wear, and how it leaves a lighter impact on our planet.

The Fabric

The Classic Tee is made entirely from ultra-soft organic cotton in a mid-weight fabric, ensuring its relaxed shape still has structure. The Classic Tank is blended with the addition of 5% elastane, to maintain the garment’s shape, recovery and longevity.

The Process

GOTS-certified organic cotton is grown from non-genetically modified seeds, without the use of fertiliser or pesticides. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is an independent certification that takes considers every step in the supply chain, from the growing and harvesting of the raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing and labelling.

The Benefits

Alongside the environmental benefits of organic cotton, this natural fibre is beautifully breathable, durable, and soft on the skin. Organic cotton is easy to wear and care for, making the Classic Tee and Tank perfectly suited to everyday wear.

The Impact

The elimination of toxic chemicals from the farming process not only reduces pollution, water contamination and the degradation of our soil, but also safeguards the health of farmers and local communities in cotton-growing areas.
